This wine comes from the relatively new Casavecchia di Pontelatone appellation dedicated to the little-known Casavecchia grape. The 2014 Casavecchia di Pontelatone Riserva Trebulanum is an earthy and succulent expression that is bursting with blackberries and dark plum. Smoke, tar and campfire ash appear in a second wave of aromatic intensity. The mouthfeel is thickly textured and velvety. Some 13,000 bottles were produced.
